Per IMDB: "An affable underachiever finds out he's fathered 533 children through anonymous donations to a fertility clinic 20 years ago. Now he must decide whether or not to come forward when 142 of them file a lawsuit to reveal his identity."

Late night beering and MetaFiltering I stuck this on in the background (NetFlix UK) without any foreknowledge, expecting it to be the usual anonymous Vince Vaughan fodder. In places it was, but it definitely has genuine aspirations to something better. I'm certain I'd be a lot more internet-snarky about its various cultural/character assumptions and handwaves if I'd not had a few, but I like that the film aspired to tackle its subject and treat it with as much respect as it was capable.

On the other hand the whole absent/donor father guardian angel thing in the early part of the film rubbed me up the wrong way, although it later explicitly looks to recognise and address that.

Not a great film, but equally not just something by the numbers either. Interesting to poke at, with a few wry laughs here and there.
