The models for the made to measure - the makeup was so painful! And good riddance sheer black tights.

I loved this episode! Oh, the hilarribility of the 80s clothing. It was a great watch. And Patrick and Esme almost sold me on the virtues of the aesthetic.

I had to look up everyone's ages. Several of the garments didn't look that eighties to me. Poor Matt, that was stressful to watch.

I was born in 1959 so the 80s was the decade of my 20s, and I wore all those things - a bright blue jacket with massive shoulder pads, puffball skirts, GIANT BOWS, peplums, taffeta ruffled dresses, ra-ra skirts... Oh, the cringe that I felt watching this episode. My wedding dress was tafetta, with layered ruffled skirts, puff sleeves, shoulder pads, giant bows on each shoulder and a gigantic bow on the back. (I still think it was a gorgeous dress though.)

I love this show. The music is fantastic, the clothes this week were painful (I did my best to ignore fashion during the 80s but I'm pretty sure I had a blazer with huge shoulder pads). Thanks to reddit, I have been watching past seasons while watching the current one, I just started Series 2 today. Patrick Grant is ridiculously handsome and just keeps getting better.

I'm finally catching up on this season.

Poor Matt, that was stressful to watch.

Seriously. He seems so nice and he handled it so well. And I think this is the first time in any of the Great British X shows that I've seen a judge go do the comforting, rather than the hosts. I liked how they used a voiceover to not actually show him crying.

ceejaytee, enjoy season 2! It has some of my favorite contestants (though I like Esme much more as a judge).
