Seemed like plenty of time under the ice. That was a bit of a slog - and pretty hollow except as a way to de-power the M9 before the boss battle.

OTOH, shivers and quiffs.

It was a bit of a slog, but I enjoyed Matt creating an interest environment for it. I also think that Fjord letting go of the rope might lead to some more fun developments in the Fjord - Veth relationship. And I’m really curious about the spider.

I've only played a little 5E, but from what I played it has been confirmed by CR that Spiritual Guardians is just a ridiculously good spell.

It is; I've had groups combine a cleric with SG with a ranger casting Spike Growth (2d4 per 5ft square traveled; creates difficult terrain, so things move at half speed - i.e., take longer to get anywhere, while taking damage every turn from both spells) to give themselves amazing control of the battlefield. Without some serious attacks from range to disrupt concentration, its difficult to get opponents into melee without them being almost bled out; and even if you get there, the ongoing damage from SG plus a tank character makes short work of them.

Being a good DM, I learned from their cleverness and have applied the combo against them when needed.
