Nate: A One Man Show (2020)

A very unusual Netflix standup special. Nate, played by comedian Natalie Palamides, explores humor, sexuality and consent with a live audience.
It doesn't seem to have received much press yet, but I heard about it because it's #2 on Paste Magazine's Best Stand-up Comedy Specials of 2020 list.

Many years ago, Bill Murray played a playwright friend of Duston Hoffman's in Tootsie. The only line I remember him delivering was "I want my audience to stumble out of the theatre saying 'what the hell just happened?'"
What the hell just happened? I mean, it was amazing, and I kept being blown away by the absolute precision and skill in what was presented as a chaotic mess, but I'm still trying to wrap my brain around it.

Just watched. It's pretty good! Natalie's perspective is definitely out there - she'll push things pretty far into cringe territory and then just do something kinda sweet and dorky. The use of audience participation amplifies the theme of consent as people are made to do things they didn't plan on doing.
