Cannot get over the perfect casting of both teen and current Misty. Sammi Hanratty and Christina Ricci are just sublime.

I mentioned this on the previous ep thread, but I'm stuck on it, so I'm going to complain here, too.

This is such a good show with so much going on stylistically, thematically, and dramatically that I am irritated with myself for fixating on them not cleaning up the house. Bring some water up from the lake and mop or something. Make a broom out of an evergreen branch and pull down the spiderwebs. DAMN.

Its only been a few days, they're probably still in shock and just trying to survive? I don't think cleaning up would be my first priority in that situation. Plus at least some of them think rescue is coming soon.

Could be a nice Revenge of the Nerds homage montage. Put one foot in front of the other!

But, seriously, if they could bury a mummy, they could probably do a bit of tidying up.

We binged the first four episodes of this yesterday afternoon. Really good. The characters are impeccable.

This always bugs me in post-apocalyptic media as well. There's no TV/Internet anymore, you could at least push a broom around for a minute. Fallout, I'm looking in your direction.

Excellent show, deeply unsettling tone. Is this is the only episode that isn't actually terrifying? (And yeah, they cut a finger off a corpse and showed a man with his face blown off, but this episode was so much less chilling than the preceding ones.)

Maybe it's just my significant ADHD talking, but cleaning up the house would be exactly my priority in that situation and an absolute GIFT for coping with the immediate shock. It's a nice solid manual activity with concrete and predictable results. It benefits from "many hands make light work" teamwork but doesn't require equal and heavy commitment from everyone. It is a way to assert some control over quality-of-life circumstances in a terrifyingly uncertain situation. Hell, watching them in the wilderness makes me want to tidy my own house.

/FINALLY watching this, so apologies if anyone finds it weird to have the show resurfacing in their Recent Activity.
