The Problem: Strange love a star woman teaches.

A hodgepodge of topics today, but John and Merlin keep it light. Follow along as we learn:

John is full of sushi. He's been walking all over Seattle, interacting with his fellow man; John and Merlin share their love of Target; boy clothes vs girl clothes; have we reached Peak Princess? Rumpelstiltskin, and being torn in two; Music from the Pernice Brothers;

Merlin is full of of MSG; MSG deniers; wet neckties as a metaphor for MSG suffering; chronic fatigue syndrome; measuring pain; "On a scale of 1 to 5..."; This day in outrage; the social justice kitten calendar;

Lyrics to the theme from Star Trek; Trek vs Twilight Zone; Reruns line-up; Star Trek and Star Wars toys, war movie toys, die-cast toys;

Video game chairs; childern's car seats; John wants to be on a board of directors; John the Un-Disruptor.

So apparently word on the street is the Star Trek theme only has lyrics because Gene Roddenberry was a jerk that wanted half the rights to the song and the royalties from the theme, so he attached some quick goofy lyrics to it so the composer wouldn't get to keep it all.

Tenacious D has always had a Star Trek themesong with lyrics in their live sets (like this one), which is where I first heard it. I thought it was a joke they made up, since the lyrics were so goofy until trekkies pointed it out to me that it was all real.

My boss is going to the other side of the world for 5 weeks. I don't meet any of the specified criteria, but it seems like a perfect chance for John the Undisruptor to practice straightening some stuff out.

He can start with small potatoes and then be ready for the big potatoes. Or whatever. I guess he doesn't like potatoes.
