I still say, let Danielson win the battle royal match and have the NJPW fight he's openly wanted to have for years now. And then he LOSES, and Tanahashi is the new AEW champ.

Red Velvet vs Kris Statlander was surprisingly competitive, but just the aperitif before the obvious 3-on-3 that's going to occupy Athena, Kris, Anna Jay and Jade's crew.

In fact, between this and FTR+Trent vs Will Ospreay and United Empire, Tony seems to love trios matches but not pushing a trios title... ???

The dissolution of the friendship between Statlander and Velvet feels unearned but the two of them have really good chemistry in the ring and would probably make for a better long-term story than whatever anyone else has going on with Cargill.
