Westworld: Metanoia
August 10, 2022 6:16 AM - Season 4, Episode 7 - Subscribe
Bernard and Maeve fight to save the world. Charlotte begins to see her plans realized. The Man in Black returns to the game.
It was weird to hear a non-cover version of a pop song.

I'm still not entirely clear on what Charlotte was trying to do - allow the hosts to transcend their human forms? But not going to Nirvana, because Bernard is the only host with the key and the portal wasn't open and so why'd he open it now and lorrrrrrd they gotta answer for a lot of setup in the last episode.

This felt like they skipped at least one entire episode of escalation to get where it ended up.

I really hope they're going to make this payoff (like all of that episode was rehearsal in the Sublime for whatever happens in the season finale). Because very little of the episode made sense given the groundwork they established this season (like Charlotte controls everything and nobody would get near her that easily). Tired of nihilist burn it all down HiB [yawn] (I mean Ed Harris is great at it but it's such a boring idea relative to the rest of the show). Really don't understand the transcendence into an armless robodroid.

I thought the last episode was amazing, and this one left me underwhelmed. I'm not sure why I can't stop watching Westworld, when I normally abandon shows I don't love pretty quickly. I know I'll be back here for season 5.

Also, there's no way we've seen the last of Bernard, Maeve, and Hale.
