Sweet P. starts his first day of school, but ends up getting a real lesson from The King of Ooo.
I really hope at some point they provide some backstory for the King of Ooo. So far, we know that Tree Trunks and Kim Kil Whan are fans.

Atreides: "Was the use of the belly shake at the end with the school yard bullies a clever decision by Sweet P to turn a bad thing into a good purpose, or was it the first sign that Sweet P using a power to handle people Sweet P knew would be rendered helpless? "
I thought it was a suggestion that the Lichy aspects of Sweet P are beginning to come out. He is learning to control and manipulate.

I don't know why, but the phrase:
"I'm the on true king of Ooo, and this is my attorney Toronto" was almost infinitely pleasurable for me.

Imagine the fully-evilized Lich doing the belly shake.

Another great, interesting episode. I'm not sure what to think about it yet.

I'm not sure what to think either...the Lich seems to exist within Sweet P as a fully-formed and cognizant personality, but it's hard to say what that means, exactly. Sweet P isn't just a disguise, but on some level, he and the Lich do appear to be indivisible. And if the Lich remembers the Time Before Time, then he must remember his old life. Maybe Sweet P and the Lich share a soul, but are two separate minds. Sweet P is the one in control, but the Lich can briefly take possession in moments of crisis, and can affect Sweet P in dreams. Hmmmmmm.
What's interesting is I can imagine the Lich would be pleased if folks like the King and Toronto just corrupted Sweet P to the point that he (Sweet P) would willingly embrace his lichhood. Hence, the "thank you, teachers." But the Lich kept anything really bad from happening. More to the point, he kept anything really bad from happening to Tree Trunks and Mr. Pig. So...what was the lesson? And who learned it...Sweet P or the Lich?
All that aside, fun episode, though I'd be happy not to see the King or Toronto again...they're a little too creepy for my tastes. Nice literary allusions, though!

I was thinking about this more last night. I don't think we saw the Lich get destroyed, basically Sweet P grew over his dead frame with that life goo. So it makes sense that the Lich is still in there, biding his time or whatever. Or maybe Sweet P is the one who's corrupting the Lich, making him go all soft?

Adventure Time really loves hiring comedians who have podcasts to do voices. The King of Ooo and Toronto were Andy Daly and Paul Scheer.
I liked the performances of Andy Daly, Paul F Tompkins, Cameron Esposito, and Kumail Nanjiani. But the Marc Maron and Paul Scheer voices really didn't work for me. For some reason, I can't hear them without imagining Marc and Paul in the recording sessions; I can't hear the voices as coming from the characters. I'm not sure why it's true of them and not the other comedians.
They should get Howard Kremer or Matt Besser to do a voice.

Louis CK might be pretty rocking. He doesn't have a podcast but he's kind of in that milieu.

The voice for Sweet P is perfect for the character and the dichotomy of Sweet P and the Lich is fascinating, and creepy, when their voices were overlaid each other. Sweet P in this episode was to a degree, a babe led astray.
So is the Lich only able to rise up when Sweet P is faced with something that angers or upsets him to the extreme?
Was the use of the belly shake at the end with the school yard bullies a clever decision by Sweet P to turn a bad thing into a good purpose, or was it the first sign that Sweet P using a power to handle people Sweet P knew would be rendered helpless? (I'm leaning toward the former).
