In a far-future time ruled by the supernatural, a young girl requests the help of a vampire hunter to kill the vampire who has bitten her and thus prevent her from becoming a vampire herself.

A post-apocalyptic gothic horror western anime.

I haven’t seen this since high school jeez…where did you find it? Was the version you watched subtitled or dubbed?

It's currently available on Amazon. The version I watched was dubbed.

We had the awesomely atmospheric trailer for this movie on VHS and watched it like a dozen times, and then I finally saw the movie and thought, "meh". I can't remember the plot at all, but I sure do remember a bunch of running away from a vampire through tall grass.

Netflix is a dirty liar.

If you're wondering why the style seems familiar (and why all the beads?), it's because the designs are based on the original light novel illustrations by Yoshitaka Amano.

But honestly, the 90s era sequel film is a better watch, as "bubble anime" were a very weird period in the genre.
