Scandal: Gladiators Don't Run
February 13, 2015 6:36 AM - Season 4, Episode 12 - Subscribe

A still-kidnapped Olivia takes her chances on the open market, and things go pear-shaped pretty fast. Huck continues to freak everyone out. Mellie plays the long game.

I was really hoping the winning bidder would be revealed as .....Billy Dee Williams.

I'm pretty over this plotline, with is batshitinsane OTT even for Scandal ... but yet this was still a pretty entertaining episode.

The network teasers have me curious - but if the person getting off that plane was Mama or Papa Pope, I'm gonna be like "come on!"

I really liked Abby's scene at the end. She was probably my least favorite character at the start of the show but she's really grown on me, and this was a nice moment of fierce vulnerability for her.

My guess was it was Harrison's ex that was supposedly killed by Mama Pope (did we ever get confirmation of that?)

Or was she supposedly killed by papa Pope?

Twowordreview, I had the same thought. The actress was born in Iran, too.

I thought was saw that she was dead. But it might have been a picture of her dead body which is easily faked, especially in the world of Scandal.

(though let's be real here, we could have seen a bullet go into her brain close up and then come out the other end of her skull in another close up and Scandal could still bring her back without it being in the top 10 goofiest things the show has done)

I can't wait for Mellie to be president. Maybe Fitz can find a way to fire Whatshisface, and then appoint Mellie as VP, and then Fitz can jump off a cliff or something?

then Fitz can jump off a cliff or something?

BTW, I know this was last week, but when Tom gave his speech about what a Great Man Fitz is, I almost lost it laughing. Do the writers actually think Fitz is a great man? No, right? They couldn't possibly.

Since Fitz clearly earned his diploma from the Lord Robert Grantham School of Doofusery I get the feeling everyone in this show has an implicit understanding that they are in a classic managing upward situation.

Oh lord the ridiculousness just keeps escalating.

I just hope t doesn't end up being the Pope family again.
