Abbott Elementary: Breakup

Zach breaks up with his boyfriend. Janine continues to have problematic sub issues. Barbara can't get a solo in the church choir.
I haaaaaaaaated the breakup plot, I liked Zach before, it just got worse and worse and I hated it, trashed Zach, both guys were kind of awful, it was painful to watch.
Janine had legit concerns about getting in trouble for having problems with another sub, especially since Cassidy seemed to embrace complete screaming anarchy and seemed downright incoherent to talk to. The misspelling thing... you're telling me that this person did have a sub license? So confused, and that was just uncomfortable on so many levels.
What I did like in this episode was Barbara's church struggles, especially when she asked to get considered for a solo, gets out ONE note and then is told she's done. It reminded me of how I can't get considered even for tiny solo parts 99% of the time, and then we find out the church ladies don't approve of say, having more than one piercing and going to jazz and being friends with a gay man... OY. I wanted her to find another church to sing with, but she wasn't going to do that.
"Apparently you can't key a church lady's car any more."

I’ll miss Zach too! Loved Barbara’s story this week, and apparently Quinta directed her to sing less well than normal! Repeating myself from last week, Queen Sheryl Lee Ralph!

Loved Ava coming to Barbara's defense, loved the idea that Barbara is the "modern one" in some stuffy church circle, and I KNEW KNEW KNEW she wasn't singing at her full capacity because she is THE GOAT.
Agree with all that the sub and breakup (sob) storylines were disappointing.
