The MJF opener got intense and bloody real fast -- either MJF had a blood capsule for theatrical purposes or he actually got a busted lip from Rush's elbow. (What do you expect for wearing an elbow pad that reads "Chinga tu madre"?). His reward is a match at Forbidden Door with.... Hechicero? I guess luchadors really have it out for Max now.

Also, Kyle O'Reilly is becoming a GIF factory the way he reacts to Mark Briscoe.

Swerve takes an interesting angle to his promo: Will Ospreay can't be champion because he can't make the kind of sacrifices Swerve thinks are necessary -- giving up friends, carrying the show... abandoning his family? An interesting way to retcon his earlier heel actions as an "I did what I had to do to become champion."

I do not enjoy how much the commentary team talks about the time Dante Martin twisted his foot in a ladder match (WARNING: gnarly foot injury) and then moments later Takeshita gives him an almighty powerbomb. The 8-man match did a great job of getting over most of our Forbidden Door participants, although it would have been nice to acknowledge that Briscoe and Fletcher both have ROH titles to defend.

Had to share this bon mot from my Discord watch group: "The Bucks are fools to attack Anthony Bowens tonight, it's Pride Month and Juneteenth, he's stronger than ever!"

Our one women's match of the night was a bit of foregone conclusion. Good to see Nyla Rose on Dynamite again, but the story is definitely in seeing Kris Stat and Willow Nightingale circle in on each other in the Owen Hart tournament. (Surprise me by proving me wrong, Tony Khan! Give Mariah the shot instead!)

But because Willow is all class she wishes Stokely a happy Juneteenth first.

Swerve clearly got to Ospreay with his remarks, coming out to save Daniel Garcia and MJF from Brian Cage for no apparent reason and having a first-time-ever staredown with Max -- one day these two will have a match that will kick so much ass. Then he agrees backstage to put his title on the line against Cage this Saturday? He's off his game and could lose everything by the time Forbidden Door is done, which leaves him in a tough position with the Callis Family.
