?Oshi No Ko?: Reunion Show Only

B-Komachi go to Miyazaki to shoot their new music video, with Aqua and Akane in tow. As they arrive at the city, they learn of the city's connection to Ame-no-Uzume, goddess of mirth, revelry, and most importantly to our cast, the arts. Ruby and Aqua both have a connection to the town through their past lives, and this visit unearths some of them.
The episode starts with Ruby listening to a demo of producer Himura's track. All three members are impressed with the result, though Kana makes a couple of digs at her bandmates' singing abilities as she thinks they'll need a lot of pitch correction and auto-tuning to sound good on it. Mem-cho talks to her friend in Miyazaki, and there's enough time to do a video for one of their B-Komachi covers in addition to making a video for this new song.
At the airport, where Kana is dismayed to learn that Akane will also be joining them on this trip to Miyazaki. Ruby warmly greets Akane in person for the first time, simultaneously praising her beauty while also wondering what exactly Aqua did to get them to start dating. Ruby warmly welcomes Akane into their circle, even presumptuously asking if she can start calling Akane her older sister.
When they get to Miyazaki, B-Komachi gets to work in and around the studio while Aqua and Akane take a tour of Gorou Amemiya's life there without Akane's explicit understanding of the situation. Aqua takes her to the hospital where he worked / where Ai gave birth, and then wanders to the area where his previous life died. He considers going down the cliff where Gorou fell to his death in order to search for the body, but decides against it. He lies to Akane explaining that he was wondering if a dead pet from his childhood would still be there.
Afterwards, he takes Akane to the now abandoned house where Gorou grew up with his grandparents. We get Gorou's backstory, including the fact that his mother died in childbirth and his relationship with the maternal grandparents that raised him. There's also a flashback into Gorou's time as a doctor, and Sarina's last moments. She gives Gorou her beloved Ai keychain, that she bought when she was well enough to go to one of B-Komachi's concerts. She asks that he carry it with him, and to remember her through it.
The two of them head back to the studio as Ruby and Kana wrap up their shooting responsibilities for the day. Mem-cho has to stay on afterwards as she is the only non-minor in the group, and can therefore be forced to work after 10pm thanks to Japan's labor laws. Akane criticizes Kana's outfit for the video, then adjusts and fixes it to look good for the camera. We are reminded that Akane, despite her rivalry with Kana, is still very much her fan. Akane and Aqua talk about Aqua's date with Kana, and how that that will be a liability going forward as Kana becomes more well-recognized as an idol. Aqua thinks back to how obsessive fans get and how that ugly that situation can be, and he gets the mental image of Ai's death but with Kana's face instead.
Ruby wraps up and wants to head back to the hotel to rest. She wants to sleepover with Akane, and the two of them head back to the hotel. Ruby sees a crow by the side of the road and kneels down to look at it more closely, and the crow steals her hotel key and flies off. Akane and Ruby go after the crow, as Ruby walks around town she remembers her time there as Sarina, and thinks back to her time with Gorou. She's still motivated by the fact that as she becomes more famous as an idol, she believes that Gorou will come and find her and he'll be able to fulfill his longstanding promise to marry her when she's of age.
The crow takes Ruby and Akane deeper and deeper into the forest, and eventually into a cave with a shrine. Inside they find skeletal remains of a man in a white coat, with the Ai keychain right next to a name badge that reads "Gorou Amemiya."
The final episode of the season airs October 6th instead of next Wednesday, as the previous scheduling delay means that OnK has lost their broadcast spot next week.
