I really enjoyed this, and originally watched in a theater in Queens. Unfortunately some guy a couple of rows behind me had a noisy phone throughout and the aliens never jumped out of the screen to pounce on him. Seriously, the WORST movie for that to be happening during…

Turned this off halfway through. What a dumb movie. She meets some guy and then they're all of the sudden pals? everything was so heavy handed. I NEED TO EAT PIZZA BECAUSE MY DEAD DAD TOOK ME THERE! c'mon

It's wild how Lupita Nyong'o became a beloved and respected star but Hollywood still mostly doesn't know what to do with her, so she's now made three horror movies in five years.

(Horror is lucky/glad to have her, but typically if an actor is widely considered one of the world's most beautiful people and has won multiple major awards, they have broader options.)

Not at all great, but better than it had reason to be, so I liked it well enough. Every beat is pretty well telegraphed and by-the-numbers, but if you like Lupita Nyong'o it's worth seeing. (And if you do not, consult a doctor.)
Joseph Quinn is good, too.
