The Greenlanders

The story of a family of Norse colonists in Greenland circa 1400.
This book ruled. The writing style was head-melting; it took me a while to get in to it, but eventually it rewires your brain and you come to expect its almost "transcribed oral saga" cadence. The way it blends the absolute banality of agrarian life and the constant presence of death is just so compelling. It's one of those books that makes you feel like you're seeing a side of the human experience you've never even thought about before. I can't recommend it enough.

FanFare's current UI needs a lot of improvement but there is a Book Info section of the sidebar that, at least for this post, has a link to the Barnes and Noble page for the book.
On mobile (or narrow desktop windows) the sidebar stuff is below the end of the comments on a page.

Omg trig, thank you so much for pointing that out, I’ve been here for years and never noticed the book info section before!
(Also this book sounds cool and I plan to read it)
