Moonbeam City: Lights! Camera! Reenaction!
September 24, 2015 1:43 AM - Season 1, Episode 2 - Subscribe

Following the arrest of a vicious bicycle thief during Moonbeam City's 8th Annual Children's Rave, Dazzle is invited to appear on true-crime show Crime Zappers by host Vex Mullery (John O'Hurley). However, after being underwhelmed by the production values of television reenactment, he takes control of the shooting and everything spirals out of control.

I really like the look and concept behind this show, but a rave seems pretty anachronistic for a program set in a Patrick Nagel world.

It was so bad I forgot I watched it. I got one and a half laughs, and part of that was laughing at "sign my dick?!"..."Sure I'll sign your dick". The half was a chuckle at Rad with the hungry hungry rhino set. What little luster the pilot had wore off real quick. I guess I didn't realize last week that the main character's names are Dazzle, Rad and Pizzazz. This must have seemed so hilariously funny on paper. On paper some of the lines probably read hilariously. But the execution is just terrible. And Will Forte making jokes about liking poop in his mouth - that's not 80's, that's crass and weak. The plots are so meaningless, I really just wish it was a minute or two of dialogue followed by a full musical number.

I like the artwork and I know what it is now - if you had played this, but seriously, just an 80's cop thing with blood and guts and boobs and butts on Liquid Television with The Head and The Maxx and Aeon Flux - it would have been a perfect fit.
