I've started it. Then I saw it was the lawyer planet episode. I don't know if I can finish it. I will probably, but it's gonna be hard.

So, not too many thoughts about this episode, I guess. : ) From this point, Farscape just keeps getting better and then you get Season 3! Season 4 is has some clunkers, too, but I still haven't found anything else to compare to the overall quality of this show...
Originally, the episode was going to be the first one of the season, but instead they (wisely) decided on Family Ties. Here's an excerpt from the Farscape Season 2 Companion: "The story's origins stretch back to 'The Inner Light,' one of the initial scrips that Rockne S. O'Bannon prepared during the early development of Farscape, then known as Space Chase, back in 1994." I read somewhere else that this is the episode that sold Space Chase, so without it, no Farscape. Just for that, it holds a special place in my heart. But, I still skip this one on re-watch!

I still haven't watched it, but it's reassuring to learn that it's essentially a first season episode. It reminds me of the ridiculous Star Trek: TNG episode where Wesley falls into a flower bed and is condemned to death.

Yes, it's a lot like that episode! Thanks for the memory!

I did watch it. I made myself sit through it, thank you completionist guilt!

The real stars of the episode, as much as I appreciated Virginia Hay's performance, the real stand outs were Chiana and Rygel. The comedy of Chiana taking too many pills at once was a bit out of place and too over the top for the circumstances.

Ultimately, though, the likelihood of two non-lawyers managing to win in a legal setting against lawyers who live in on PLANET LAWYERS, where 90% of the population are lawyers, is pretty unimaginable. I'm a lawyer and I see non-lawyers go down in flames often enough and our world isn't a bit close to theirs. ...so legal snit right there.

In the best circumstances, they should have just tossed the script instead of going with it and framing it as a story between Zhaan and John while stuck in a shuttle.
