Really hard to buy that so many food mishaps would befall someone with their own restaurant to raid, but a fun episode anyway. My favorite line was probably “I may seem calm, but it’s a calm anger which is a much scarier type of anger.”

I really don't like the dynamic between Jessica and her sister. The constant jealousy and insecurity just leaves me feeling so exhausted. And very sad.

But with that said, the full name of Huangsgiving left me cracking up until my lungs hurt.

My partner and I were watching Fargo and realized that Connie shows up as the assistant in the insurance store that Lester Nygaard works in.

Overall though I thought this was a fun episode, though I thought forgetting to turn on the oven was a bit too on the nose.

The dynamic between Jessica and her sister was an exaggerated version of what goes on in many families, regardless of cultural background, though I also think that it reflects how hard it is to win approval from Asian parents, hence the constant competition!
