Corgi.

OK, fine - Holt allows Amy and Jake to house-sit for him while he visits Kevin in Paris, but mayhem ensues when Holt's beloved dog, Cheddar, goes missing under their watch. Meanwhile, a romantic fling between Adrian Pimento and Rosa disrupts Terry and the rest of the precinct.

The short cuts to follow Cheddar's incredible journey were by and far the best part of the episode. The rest: Not their best work, but still one of the better comedies on broadcast TV.

Thanks for picking up my slack, soundguy99. I just got done catching up with this one a few minutes ago (my TV time is severely limited of late) and saw that the post was already up. I'm planning to watch live tomorrow night (fingers crossed) so we'll have the next one up soon enough.

I thought this on was pretty good, even if taking it out of the precinct meant it could have been done by more or less any other ensemble workplace comedy. I like the fact that they're integrating Mantzoukas into the cast somewhat organically, and his chemistry with Stephanie Beatriz -- though clearly heightened for comic effect -- feels about 1000% more authentic than the whole Marcus thing last year. I have no idea if they're planning to keep him on as a recurring character beyond the next couple of episodes, but I like the additional character dynamic.

I think my favorite bit was when Jake flashed back to playing hacky-sack in the park, because for a moment I thought that it was supposed to be a '90s flashback to Jake's doofy adolescence, when in fact it was just a flashback to last week.

Hey, no sweat, we're all in this together.

Yeah, that was a fantastic fake-out, the kind of thing I love about this show.

As the AV Club recap/review points out, the "Blind Boyle" subplot was a little thin, which was kind of a shame - Boyle freaking about Lasik and then spending a day blind could've been a strong "A" plot for a whole episode. Ah well.

Swear to god, if they break up Holt and Kevin I'm burning the world down.

ON relationships, I like that Jake and Amy got together and there has been basically no goofy sitcom drama around their relationship. It's good.

Agreed just this guy, I was thinking about that myself and realized that while I'm sure they'll continue to at least grow their relationship, I could see them never doing the bs sitcom drama that other shows would feel required to do. That in and of itself is a nice breath of fresh air.

Yeah, considering Mike Schur came from both The Office and Parks and Rec (and Dan Goor from Parks and Rec), two shows that did an astounding job of 'shipping the leads (and other main characters) and not going full-on stupid with them, I have full faith that Jake and Amy will likewise be treated well as far as their relationship goes.

Whoops, looks like last night's was a repeat of the season premiere. B99 will be back with a new episode next Tuesday, March 15.

"Swear to god, if they break up Holt and Kevin I'm burning the world down."

If that happens, I'm sure the 99 will team up to bring them back together. Jake will love that and Amy will love anything to do with organization and Charles will be in charge of the food.

Can you imagine those two fighting? Kinda breaks the brain.
