Black Jesus: Fish and the Con Man
August 21, 2014 10:33 PM - Season 1, Episode 2 - Subscribe

Black Jesus and his followers look for a place to start their community garden.

Vic kicks Jesus out of the complex courtyard. The gang find a vacant lot for their vegetable (and weed) garden and get Ms. Tudi to finance the operation. Vic hires Lloyd the homeless man to keep tabs on Black Jesus. Some Mexican gangsters attempt to extort Jesus for use of the lot and he has to decide whether to pay up or get violent.

I think there's a lot of room for improvement but I'm glad it seems to be more serialized than episodic.

I'm still unclear on what the ultimate point of this show is, but it's better than the McGruder-less Season 4 of The Bookdocks.

I watched two episodes of season four of The Boondocks and couldn't convince myself to watch more, and I happily watch garbage a lot of the time. I'm going to give Black Jesus a couple more episodes to get going because it took me awhile to get into both The Boondocks and Trailer Park Boys previously, and I think there's a lot of potential in the show like a lot of previous commenters have noted.
