I was really frustrated by the meeting with Alice. It's fair enough that they want to hold back some of the mystery, having the narrator suddenly become weirdly incurious and not bothering to ask obvious, crucial questions just feels weak and lazy. I mean, accepting that Alice needs to be out here fighting the threat in her own way is plausible, but not bothering to ask "so what is that way?" and "who were you taking orders from, all that time we were married and you kept sneaking off?" just felt completely unbelievable for that character. The slip out of character felt jarring, and its lazy use to prolong the mystery was frustrating.

Eh, aside from that I genuinely enjoyed this episode. I listened to the last few within a few days of each other, and enjoyed the sense of pace relative to, say, Night Vale. There's a lot of overlap in the styles of this and Night Vale, which I think throws the writers' techniques/cruches into sharper relief and can therefore spoil the effect a bit but, for me at least, it still works well. I'm interested to see where the story goes next.

Do we know who the voice at the end ("You haven't heard from me yet") was? Alice?

When Night Vale Presents announced there would be a second season of Alice Isn't Dead, I figured they would probably give things a resolution in Chapter 10, but not a final resolution. I didn't see how they'd continue with the same narrator, so I'm happy to assume season two will have a different voice - be it Alice herself or someone else Alice-adjacent.

I enjoyed the expansion of storytelling - narrative and form - and am glad Night Vale Presents is putting out more offerings to showcase their talent pool.

I didn't get any sense that there would be a different narrator. I thought it was going to be the same narrator on a different mission. What did I miss?

Etrigan - I'm just assuming season two will be a different person based on the voice at the end ("You haven't heard from me yet"). I could be completely wrong.
