Into the Badlands: Chapter XIII: Black Heart, White Mountain
May 4, 2017 12:00 PM - Season 2, Episode 7 - Subscribe

Sunny struggles with his inner demons and his friends race to find a way to help him. Meanwhile, the Widow has a deadly new partner who helps her extract revenge on her enemies.

(I apologize for not including the Chapter numbers in the episode titles, I just realized that they're continuous since season 1, and that should matter in this case)

An interesting look at the underlying guilt that Sunny carries with him about all the people he's killed. I wonder how that will affect his behavior when he finally finds Veil and Henry.

So the monks are being slowly revealed as "bad guys", and I'm a little sad because The Master seemed so cool. But she definitely didn't even try to deny Bajie's assertion that she just wants to control power. Sure the Dark Ones are dangerous to let loose in the world, but it would seem the system she has set up at the temple isn't ideal either. I was really expecting to see her use her Gift against all those dark novices, but maybe she doesn't even need to! Sucks that they cut that fight off though.

It feels like they built up the abbots to be fairly unbeatable at the end of season one, and they've had to scale the back a bit in season two to make the plot work.

man I really wanted berserker Bajie but that's fine, I can wait for Peak Widow instead

When Peak Widow vs. Machiavellian Monks happens, I'm popping ALL our popcorn!
