Mystery Science Theater 3000: SANTA CLAUS   Rewatch
April 10, 2019 7:59 PM - Season 5, Episode 21 - Subscribe

Rewatch! Santa sees, hears, knows all. Up at his workshop in a castle hovering above the north pole he keeps his helpers, children from every nation. There they work on toys, singing all day long. They can do naught else, lest the forces of hell gain the upper hand. Fortunately Santa has the aid of Merlin and his magical inventions. Kind of a spin-off of the (nearly defunct) Santa's Workshop chain of theme parks, and deeply, deeply insane. Previously.

Santa's tendrils reach far and wide. There is no hiding from the Klaus Organization.

I think this might actually be the least deranged Christmas movie riffed by the show (or Rifftrax), which is the very faintest of praise given Santa and the Easter Bunny.

Excuse me, Ice Cream Bunny. My brain substituted a thing that exists for the actual title.

Hmmm, I'd peg this as nuttier than either Santa Claus Conquers the Martians or The Christmas That Almost Wasn't, myself.

I unabashedly love this movie, with MST3K or not.

I too unabashedly love this one.

I made the mistake of showing it to my family during the holiday season one year. They are...not the target audience for MST3K's brand of humor, alas, and so did not enjoy it, but the fact that they've seen it does mean that "No, stealing is very bad and I want to be good" in a Lupita!voice is commonly heard phrase in our household now.

It's Christmas in April!!!
I thoroughly endorse the MST3Kers getting their riffing claws on any Santa Claus movie, from "The Santa Clause" to " The Polar Express" to "Miracle on 34th Street". In fact, a Christmas Day marathon sounds like a great thing to pitch to Netflix, featuring The Mads (today's version or any classic team) as Heat Miser and Cold Miser. Just don't you dare come close to Charlie Brown's tree or Ralphie's BB gun...
