Did anyone else hope that an elderly version of the 1956 next door neighbor (didn't catch his name) was going to show up on the edge of the modern jazz scene and think he recognized Henry?

I found the next-door neighbor stuff kind of baffling - of all of the reasons the writers could have come up with to give him a reason to be in the room with Henry & Abe & the piano, they chose "hey, doc, can you patch up my domestic violence injury?" They could have made him a musician with a sideline as a piano tuner, or the ever-popular TV trope of the friendly black handyman who happens to be a skilled whatever-the-plot-requires. I guess they were trying to say he was the abused rather than abuser with that 'maybe French women will be less crazy' line, but the whole thing was just weird and off-putting to me. (And where was Abigail in the flashbacks? Was it an actor scheduling/budget issue, or does she die young?).

The comedy bits with Lucas were ok, and some of the Abe & Henry scenes were cute, but, not a favorite. Henry was a bit too Sherlock-y for me this week.

I sorta wish I hadn't read your comment oh yeah!, because you're right, that scene totally jarred in otherwise lovely cheesecake of an episode. Abe & Henry ribbing on each other never fails to be wonderful. They've got a very Grimm-esque formula, oddball characters you like watching hang out on screen and a daft mystery every week.

The Wrong Kind of Cheese-
YES I was expecting that, which would have been interesting.

Also have we completely forgotten about that Adam guy? By the time they bring him back no one will remember who he is!
