Raising Dion: ISSUE #102 Fortress of Solitude

Dion's powers continue to perplex an increasingly-on-edge Nicole. Pat volunteers to investigate a possible lead into Mark's past.

*At the lake house, Nicole calls the Charlotte Tuck phone number she found in Mark's jacket and leaves a voicemail.

*A deputy (Miller) asks Nicole if she saw anything unusual the night before, as he's looking for a woman, Jill Noonan, who apparently disappeared during the freak storm.

*At the lake, Nicole tries to get Dion to use his powers on something small and safe, and tries to teach him some relaxing yoga poses, but he gets distracted with chasing after a squirrel and teleports himself up a tree, which he then clings to in a panic while having an asthma attack until Nicole manages to get a ladder up to rescue him.

*Nicole takes Dion to the pharmacy for a new inhaler, and they have to rush out after Dion can't stop floating candy bars towards him.

*Nicole goes to a job interview that Kat arranged at the hospital, but flubs it, as she is increasingly distracted watching Dion in the office across, and has to charge out before anyone else notices him levitating in a spinning chair.

*Kat calls Pat to ask if he knows what's going on with Nicole. Pat calls Nicole and tells her he's been looking into Charlotte Tuck, and using some DARPA facial recognition software has found her on social media but that there has been no activity since the date of Mark's death. Nicole is annoyed that he investigated after she asked him to drop it.

*Dion decides he needs a secret identity, like Peter Parker, so he can go back to school, and DIYs himself a 'Mind Mover' costume. He is annoyed when Esperanza (who comes by with his homework) sees it, but she says it doesn't matter since she's invisible.

*Pat arrives with apology food, but says that he wasn't just investigating Charlotte for Nicole's sake, but for his own, as he still has questions about Mark's death and whether he could have done anything to prevent it. From his window, Dion sees a girl in a stroller drop her stuffed animal onto the street. He tries to use his telekinesis on it, but instead bamphs himself into the road directly in the path of oncoming traffic, and then into Nicole's arms.

I love that they did the 'DIY superhero costume montage' trope.
