This has really felt more like Scream Queens season three than AHS season 9. It's fun and all but it's pretty jokey and with far less dread and barreling momentum than AHS at its best.

Oh, whoops. Hello, I didn't see you there!

I agree that this season is more like a somber Scream Queens than a usual season of AHS (probably to do in part with the lack of Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters), but I'm also finding the writing much, much tighter than normal. Nine hours doesn't require the same level of padding.

This season has definitely become silly. But there’s still one burning question: Does Billy Idol die?

The question of Billy Idol burns in my mind. At this point, I feel like there's no way he doesn't appear in the last episode, but of course Billy Idol is 60+. Do they just roll with it (this show is always inclined to just roll with it), or do they jump ahead for a reunion show at 2019 Camp Redwood?

(My dream is the real Billy Idol in a 2019 coda, and a 1989 scene with Billy played by Evan Peters. I would not be shocked.)
