We just finished this 3 parter. If you get through the second, you'll probably want to churn through the third. There's a fantastic amount of history and nuance that's skipped over, so much so that I find I can't recommend this production.

Recalling the fervor for the period back in my childhood during the bicentennial in 1976, back when a miniseries had so much more gravitas, and really meant something. This one descends into slow motion shots and lack of subtlety that relies on the viewer to hopefully (but probably not) google the events for themselves.

I halfway expected that British general to be pounding on the door of Independence Hall shouting "Noooooooooooooo!" at the very end.
