Fringe: Marionette Rewatch
April 26, 2015 2:36 AM - Season 3, Episode 9 - Subscribe
A very polite, well-dressed gentleman keeps apologising to people for doing dreadful things to them, and the Fringe team - including Olivia, now returned from the Red Universe - have to figure out what he's up to. Walter gives Peter some human relations advice for a change. Olivia has to confront the knowledge that everyone seems to have accepted Fauxlivia in her place, including Peter. Sometimes the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
No hurry, I decided to post early rather than late for once.
I really love the scene where Olivia loses it and strips everything out of her closet, the bed, everything and goes to stuff it in the wash, then finds Peter's t-shirt. Poor Olivia. All in all, I think this is really not a strong episode except for what it says about Olivia. We all want to think there's some indefinable quality that makes us unique, and that the people who love us would notice if we were gone, that we are irreplacable.

Great work by Anna Torv!
Again, identity and loss.

Her reaction to the invasiveness of someone else living her life is so well done and all the more effective for the contrast with her usual, assured self. Great scene.

I'm just here for Boyles' eye roll and slight dismissive head shake after his "Yes, it's urgent. Immediately means urgent." comment on the phone.

A+ speech by Liv, though.
I will try to give this a rewatch and comment more later in the day.
