So odd that FOX would be okay with the first quarter of this episode being a mean-spirited riff on how shitty Dr. Doolittle is.

Yet another example of the decline-era Simpsons episodes as a series of gags indifferently stitched together.

Featuring Edward James Olmos as the voice of the guy who sold Homer the Hive.

Actually, that whole meat fireworks sequence was gold.

I don't think the hit rate on jokes is that bad, really. So I'm continuing to watch. Because lines like "From up here, I can watch anyone on Earth in the shower" or "They're like television, but they just keep going!" are funny.

But maaaaaaaaaaan, they really give zero fucks about putting together a cohesive, resonant story any more.

The episode won me over just for the name 'Scotty Boom'. I was waiting for Elzar to come and kick it up a notch with his spice weasel.
