Lucifer on the beach in the sunlight gave me such comic book nostalgia.
Heh. It reminded me of the movie City of Angels.
Good episode, overall. And, yeah, that scene with Lucifer standing in front of his wings was great. I'm not keen on the "bad cop assassin" subplot, though. I'd just rather they nix the police stuff. It's all such a distracting sideshow/albatross to where the show should be going.
No Rachael Harris this week. Boo.

Maybe we just needed to have a bit of faith that the team behind this knows what they are doing: hook the casual viewers in with the Castle-lite procedural elements and then build up the supernatural melodrama. Mind you Chloe's reconstruction narration felt pretty hackneyed and corny.

When Amenadiel attacked Lucifer I was expecting Mazikeen to jump him and hold him down while Lucifer cut his wings off. But I guess that's out of the question for this show's gentler, goofier Prince of Darkness.

So glad that the first set of wings were revealed to be fake, all I could think when the camera got close was how cheap/fake they looked. The second set looked much better, and I loved the shot of Lucifer standing in front of them before Isiah Whitlock Jr.
(But whoever on the writing staff thinks Amenadiel calling Lucifer "Lucy" is a good idea needs to get a severe talking to. Pulls me out of the scene every time.)
