The Flash: Untouchable
February 8, 2017 4:32 AM - Season 3, Episode 12 - Subscribe
Barry and the team at S.T.A.R. Labs work together to bring down Clive Yorkin, a criminal meta-human who is methodically killing people by causing them to decompose at an accelerated rate...
...Joe becomes his next target, but it's Iris who is caught in the crossfire. Meanwhile, the Flash mentors Kid Flash and begins to elevate the newer speedster's training to another level.
Den of Geek review - We were bound to get to a filler episode of The Flash eventually, and "Untouchable" is it.
AV Club recap - The Flash cycles through familiar conflicts in an episode that plays like a rerun

I just don't know why Barry couldn't grab Wally's hand and (slowly) start vibrating Wally's molecules so he could feel what the phasing process is supposed to be like. Sometimes (most times?) show is better than tell. But at the end Barry was still all about the "rah-rah, I'll be your teacher by being your supporter" which was shown not to work.
I know that as a speedster Wally heals quickly, but boy do I hate it when a character on a TV show has to cut themselves for whatever reason and they always slash their palms. Why? That not only hurts, but it's a bad place to heal and it really impacts usability. Why not just draw blood from the top of the forearm or somewhere else that is easier to ignore?

The race at the beginning was fun, and I liked them putting Joe on the spot about Flash vs Kid Flash, but other than that? This episode just sort of happened. The Caitlin-Julian romance is going to be terrible and dull like all of Caitlin's romance plots. I actually kind of liked the villainous meta, but he wasn't fleshed out or given a name or really allowed to do anything apart from existing in an episode of a total filler. Of course, I'm an idiot who will forgive all of that, because Grodd!

Hey, so, I'm not going to get a chance to watch tomorrow night's Flash until Wednesday or later - whoever wants to get the Gorilla Grodd party started here on Fanfare after the broadcast please feel free.
