Walter, a skiing enthusiast, meets an admirer, and Peter expresses his enthusiasm for his job. Astrid reminds Walter that lab safety and food safety are paramount. And Olivia finally gets a Clue. Walter is telling Olivia a story: It's 1985, and Dr. Walter Bishop, addressing a group of Army generals, shows them the docking station of the Empire State Building. A Holocaust survivor at a wedding notices a strange man. No, not that strange man, a different one. Soon disaster has struck and it seems pretty clear the wedding is off. Walter takes the opportunity for a bit of matchmaking, and reminds us that purple never goes out of style. It's only a matter of time before someone mentions Nazis, and Walter's only too happy to oblige. Bishop/Bischoff family history, old books and art projects. A man visits a petrol company but doesn't seem to be feeling well. His spectacular collapse gets the Fringe team involved, but first Astrid has to get Walter away from telling kids some historical truths about the survival of the least curious. Just as well, since the building is quarantined with Peter and Olivia inside. Walter is able to figure out the virus's personality (ENTJ) and come up with a tox screen. But who's been infected? Fringe: Unearthed Rewatch Season 2, Ep 11
This episode was filmed during S1 but aired just prior to "Johari Window". For those of you following on DVD, it can be found as a special feature on Disc 6. Netflix streaming lists it as episode 21.
A girl regains consciousness in a hospital, but will have some interesting scars. Peter asks the obvious and shows off his linguistic skill. Again. Walter has a theory. Charlie makes an anachronistic appearance, and later gets a fun chase scene. We find out what happened to test subjects 1 through 5. Walter has another theory. The Tibetan Book of the Dead is used as a coaster. Lightning fails to strike. Walter has a third theory. The priest has a theory. Olivia has a theory. She's also a friend who is a girl, and who carries a gun. Walter's final theory sounds a lot like the priest's. Occam's razor triumphs in the end, guess it's not Tuesday. Peter gets a hug. Olivia gets a warning. We get an ending, of sorts. [more inside]

A police officer in upstate New York finds a kid walking on the side of the road. The boy is taken to the station, where he is found by his relatives. The team gets called to investigate a series of reports of deformed, hideous people. Olivia hears a hum, Walter muses on his lycanthropic adventures in London, Peter goes through some stuff, Astrid is a lepidopterist, and Broyles calls an old contact. [more inside]

Peter has an unfortunate meal, though not prepared by Walter, who is chasing another high. Broyles' sweating regimen backfires, and Olivia goes on a paper chase. Astrid is a terrible liar. Viewers who have Problems with Needle Scenes are again ruthlessly overlooked before Peter and Olivia fly off to Baghdad, because why not? Olivia has an issue with mint tea.
