Mystery Science Theater 3000: STARCRASH Rewatch

Re-re-rewatch! (what, really?) Stella Star is a star rogue kind of lady, whose second-in-command and guy-pal Akton also seems to have weird space powers. Anyway, they're on the run from the Space Law, until the Emperor of the Universe wants them to track down his lost son amidst the "Haunted Stars." If this seems awfully random, trust me, it's only the beginning. By the end there's amazons with a giant lady robot with metal breasts, a Texan-speaking law robot, the evil Count Zarth Arn, and much much more. A legendary ridiculous movie, and prime fodder for Jonah and a pair of wisecracking robots. Previously, again, and one more time.

I find this one of the rare movies where watching the original without commentary is more hilariously funny than watching the MST3K version.

The riffing is better with subsequent viewings. It's also the first episode with a musical number during the movie! But the movie is so crazy it's kind of hard for the riffs to keep up.

Oh crap I missed this? The original non-riffed version is one of my all-time faves.

I got the post up very shortly before the show, like a few minutes before (which happens pretty often with me unfortunately). We had a great time watching it though, it's one of the few times where the movie upstages the riffing!
