Mystery Science Theater 3000: GAMERA VS. GAOS
June 10, 2015 9:05 PM - Season 3, Episode 8 - Subscribe

aka Daikaijû kûchûsen: Gamera tai Gyaosu (1967, Black & White, Gamera, Kaiju, Monster, Japanese) It's the last of the "serious" Gamera movies, and the second where he teams up with a little boy, cementing Gamera's "friend to children" status. Gaos (sometimes "Gyaos") is probably the most iconic of Gamera's foes. This is probably the best classic Gamera movie; Gaos is a credible threat to the Twirling Terrapin, and the weirdness that infests later Gamera films hasn't hit yet. Prepare yourselves: the next one is very strange.... YouTube ( 1h37m) First aired July 27, 1991.

MST3KFilter: We Have Gameras.

I'm sure I've made this joke before, and I'll probably make it again, for #312 and #316

I thought the same thing. It's to the "Daddy-O's Drive In" section of the Information Club website.

Watched this one on YouTube a few days ago. The best Gamera and the best Gamera MST.

"We been eating Gam-er-aaaaaa!"

Yeah, the link above that says Daddy-O isn't to last week's movie, but the episode Gamera Vs. Gaos on the Satellite News website. After the IMDB, it's by far the most complete informational resource on MST3K movies, and I include a link to it every week.

Folks, I'm on vacation in Maine this week, without a laptop. I'll see everyone next week.

Ah, shame you can't make it wittgenstein. Good luck with the trip!

For those of us who like MST3K Club, codacorolla is starting The Wheel of Schlock, another club with the objective of watching bad movies, this time on Netflix. (BTW, couldn't Netflix really use a group watching and chatting function?)

Great showing. But boy, did that movie suck. Yeeesh.

Yeah. It says something that it might be the best classic Gamera movie (Gaos at least is Gamera's most iconic foe, it's safe to say) but we still hemmoraged more than half our viewers by the time the movie ended.

I think it's safe to say we won't have so much attrition for the next Gamera movie. Heh heh heh.

It's funny but interesting to me, thinking about this, but because we watch these things, together, the fanfare listings get less play as far as comments are concerned. And i'm always surprised by the folks that comment, yet don't actually show up to watch.

Still, it's a great job you do, Mr. jHarris. Or, as I like to think of you, Rod.

This movie was almost unwatchable, but thanks to it I have had "Gameroads, take me home" stuck in my head all day.
