Mystery Science Theater 3000: CODE NAME: DIAMOND HEAD
December 7, 2016 8:13 PM - Season 6, Episode 8 - Subscribe

"One Man Stands Between the Release of a Deadly Gas and the Fate of the World." Quinn Martin, producer of 16 thousand TV shows, tried to make it 16,001 with this pilot that didn't get picked up. NBC instead showed it as a movie-of-the-week. Basically, a spy tries to stop double-agent "Tree" from selling a deadly deadly gas to a foreign power. With short A Day at the Fair: Relieve the days when rural families enjoyed themselves by meeting for agricultural exhibits once a year. The incredible excitement explodes off the screen! The short's actually okay, but the movie is serious dullsville. Even the ad quote above came from a VHS box. It's very easy to forget this episode even exists. What was I talking about again? YouTube (1h32m) Premiered October 10, 1994.

Short
Daddy-O's Drive-In Dirt
IMDB (1947, 2.1 stars)
"A family goes to the local fair to compete with their livestock & produce."
Narrated by James Brill, but no one else's names survive. We're not even sure if the family depicted are actors. Produced by Encyclopedia Britannica Films, who you'd think would keep better records.

You know, usually the guys were pretty good at not going to the well too often on jokes, but they *really* overdid the "Lovejoy" mentions here.

Also starring Victor from Young and the Restless!

Please, he's Dr. Forbin from "Colossus: The Forbin Project" (which I reminded my wife of EVERY TIME I caught her watching Young and the Restless... I was a cruel husband)
