Mystery Science Theater 3000: DEATHSTALKER AND THE WARRIORS FROM HELL
May 3, 2017 5:14 PM - Season 7, Episode 3 - Subscribe

"The Most Action-Packed Deathstalker Yet!" A smug sword guy roams a standard fantasy realm trying to overthrow an evil wizard or something. General consensus is this is a terrific episode. The movie is deeply cheesy and bad, and yet the others in its series are just as bad but also contain tons more nudity, so count yer blessings! Plus great riffing, classic movie lines like "Potatoes are what we eat!", and a bunch of Lord of the Rings references before they were cool. Host segments take on Renaissance festivals and romance novels. YouTube (1h31m) Premiered February 17, 1996.

"Potatoes are what we eat!"
Except when the hashbrowns contain bits of golf balls. I just thought I'd get that over with early before I make up some poutine for the viewing party...

So, in retrospect, it looks like Thom Christopher (Troxartas) was pretty much just reprising his role from Wizards of the Lost Kingdom, which got covered in season 11.

He'll always be Hawk from Buck Rogers to me, though.

He'll always be Evil Colonel Whatshisname from that one soap opera to me. You can tell how deep of an impression he made, what with my highly detailed memory of the role.

Looks like he worked on a couple of soaps. Love of Life, Edge of Night, and Loving.

Sorry this is going up late, the whole House AHCA vote thing was soundly depressing. Anyway....

Tonight's showing is again on rabb.it, at https://www.rabb.it/rodneylives. The plan is to show:
7 PM ET/4 PM PT: 1104 AVALANCHE
9 PM ET/6 PM PT: 703 DEATHSTALKER AND THE WARRIORS FROM HELL
11 PM ET/8 PM PT: 1104 AVALANCHE again, or another episode determined by viewers

Last week our remaining viewers at the end of 702 were kind of tired out and no one wanted to keep watching, so we called it early. Such a thing may happen again, depending on how people feel. It is six hours of bad movie mirth.

It's inevitable that Jonah and the bots will soon be riffing C-SPAN. It's the only way to make Congress watchable...

What does it say about this modern world that we'd all like to be stranded on a satellite with a couple of bots?

I mean I am already watching bad movies and getting my supply of fresh air threatened by psychopaths on the regular.

Sad I missed the screening last night, this is probably favorite sword and sorcery movie they did pre season 11.

...and my head just exploded. No wonder he was naggingly familiar in Wizards of the Lost World - I guess I only looked at his film credits on IMDB.
