Defiance: The World We Seize & The Last Unicorns Season 3, Ep 1
Seven months have passed since Irisa saved the day and the E-Republic has left the mining town of Defiance which has found its town sustaining ore unreachable. The fate of Irisa and Nolan remain unknown, while Amanda struggles to keep the town together. Elsewhere, Rafe McCawley and the Tars continue their hunt for their grandson and children. Defiance: I Almost Prayed Season 2, Ep 13
The second part of Defiance's season finale begins with New York in ruins and the ancient Votan terraforming ship prepared to destroy the world in order to create a new paradise for the Votan races. Stopping Irisa from following through with the plan is the only way to save billions of lives, but the Earth Repbulic's only plan involves her death. Nolan has another plan and is willing to do whatever it takes to save his daughter. Linda Hamilton's Pilar is determined to get Christy, Alak and their unborn child out of Defiance against the wishes of a newly reconciled Stahma and Datak. How will the end of the world be stopped, Irisa dead or alive?
Defiance: All Things Must Pass Season 2, Ep 12
Part One of the two part second season finale of Defiance opens with Stahma and Datak kidnapped and left to awake chained together in the bottom of an abandoned silo. Good Tommy, still suffering from the stab wound he received from Irisa at the end of the last episode, is relentlessly pulled through the snowy woods surrounding Defiance by Nolan, determined to get him the medical help he needs. Throughout the night, flashbacks of Tommy are peppered throughout the episode, queued by his visions of friends standing in the silence of the snow filled woods. Meanwhile, Irisa takes control of Votan terraforming satellites hovering in the debris field above Earth and annihilates New York City. Lastly, Mayor Pottinger offers Amanda a surprise gift with unexpected results.
Defiance: Doll Parts Season 2, Ep 11
The second of two episodes aired this week, Doll Parts opens with the death of Treasure Doll, aka Deirdre, aka Future Ms. Alak Tar Wannabe, and sets off an investigation by a temporarily deputized Amanda to solve the murder. The Irisa and Ark Rise storyline continues with Nolan's attempt to rescue his daughter running into obstacles and we learn a little more on what the what is going on. Christy is shown in a new light, while the Tars gain a new handmaiden to replace their last. Also, Stahma partakes in charity.
Defiance: Slouching Towards Bethlehem Season 2, Ep 8
After the Earth Republic arrests a spy for the Votanis Collective, the knowledge he has of the Tarrs and other Votanis Collective operations makes his death an immediate necessity. Stahma seeks out Datak with a proposition, while Amanda receives a phone call from a mysterious stranger who claims the impossible if Amanda takes care of the problem. While Nolan is mainly distracted with the prisoner, Irisa encounters the woman she attacked in the first episode of the season outside of Defiance and questions arise.
Defiance: If You Could See Her Through My Eyes Season 2, Ep 7
Datak and Stahma temporarily unite to uncover the killer of a beloved Tarr family slave, while Amanda learns more about William Atherton's Viceroy Mercado's plans for the future of the mayorship of Defiance. Deirdre, Alak's DJ in the Arch, continues to manipulate both him and Christy, striving to tear their marriage apart while playing sympathetic to both. Christy continues her visits to the Janus Club dressed as a Castithan and is discovered by Alak. Finally, Nolan discovers the truth about Irisa. Come for the eye gouging, stay for Atherton's jazzy solo vocals that concludes the episode! [more inside]
Defiance: This Woman's Work Season 2, Ep 6
Stahma's rise to power runs headlong into the dogmatic views of Castithan patriarchy and the question arises, is it time for a Castithan feminist movement. Good Tommy surprisingly returns after an angry confrontation between him and Nolan over loyalty, and he finally discovers Irisa's secret. Meanwhile, the Earth Republic mayor is sent on a mission to recover an important piece of alien technology that has crashed near Defiance and forced to take Nolan along for his expertise. Lastly, Rafe suggests inviting Datak over for dessert. [more inside]
Defiance: Put the Damage On Season 2, Ep 5
Potentially drug-induced hallucinations haunt several of Defiance's residents, including former mayor Amanda, while the more entertaining arc of a naked Graham Green Rafe McCawley, recently evicted by the Earth Republic and now living with his daughter's in-laws, is uncomfortably confronted by a welcoming half-naked Stahma while bathing. Datak, in light of the painful realization that he must adopt a new strategy to right the upside down world of his, begins a plot to run the Earth Republic out of Defiance.
Defiance: Beasts of Burden Season 2, Ep 4
Datak returns to Defiance intent on reassuming his position in the criminal underbelly of the boomtown and with a mind to repay the insults to his honor while incarcerated. The Mayor and Berlin on a convoy transporting "mining equipment" are attacked in the wild borderlands and Nolan is ordered to uncover who is responsible. The clues, however, point to suspects uncomfortably close to home. Creepy Tommy continues to be Creepy Tommy.
Defiance: The Cord and the Ax Season 2, Ep 3
Irisa continues to experience blackouts at a terrifying and increasing rate, but she tries to keep a worried Nolan in the dark about her situation; and under Stahma's self-appointed leadership, the Tarr family business prospers, while an increasingly suspicious Datak remains locked up behind bars.
Defiance: In My Secret Life Season 2, Ep 2
Irisa is arrested upon her return to Defiance, but Nolan can arrange her release by capturing those responsible for an explosion that nearly killed Mayor Pottinger. Meanwhile, Stahma decides the only way to stay in control of her family's criminal enterprises is by ensuring that Datak stays behind bars.
Defiance: The Opposite of Hallelujah Season 2, Ep 1
Defiance celebrates Founders' Day. The Tarr family adjusts to their new situation. Amanda adapts as she always has. Nolan does what Nolan does best. Doc Yewell makes her scope of practice very clear. Bear McCreary rocks. [more inside]
