Ten Forward
Hello, I suggest a rolling thread here in FF Talk which can serve as a catchall chatroom for Trek topics. This could be it, or maybe not. I was just musing about the range of upcoming Trek stiff coming up and our current on going TAS and TNG threads and thought, hm, sometimes I see a Trek thing I wanna share here but am always uncertain where.
So, if you’re open to the idea and MeFi’s UI can make it work appropriately, please step into Ten Forward. Rumor has it that Guinan will be returning in s02 of PIC, but in the meantime, I’ll do my best, and of course you’re all welcome to step behind the bar as the, er, spirits move you.
Star Trek Club: Vulcans
So what do we think about depictions of Vulcans and how they have changed across the franchise, ranging from Mark Lenard's Sarek to James Frain's Sarek? [more inside]
Star Trek Discovery discussion
This thread about the S7 Voyager episode Prophecy sprawled into a discussion of Star Trek Discovery's merits and treatment of Klingons. I am moving it here to allow broader discussion.
All aired Star Trek should be considered fair game here. [more inside]
Book: A Stitch in Time
Spy, tailor, gardener. At last, Elim Garak is home, and free. His parents are dead and his world and home lie in ruins. What's a lizard to do?
"A Stitch in Time" is unique in Trek fiction in that it is a first-person semi-epistolary novel ostensibly written by the Cardassian spy, tailor, and gardener Elim Garak to his friend and conversational partner Julian Bashir from within the ruins and reconstruction of a defeated Cardassia in the wake of the Dominion War, after the end of the series' run. The book's author is the actor who portrayed Garak, Andew J. Robinson. [more inside]
DS9 Duffer's Guide
Pursuant to my VOY Duffer's Guide post here and to the DS9 FPP on the green, I'd like to bruit a Duffer's Guide for DS9 as proposed in-thread. I assume my DS9 rewatch crewmembers have seen the FPP and thusly don't intend to crosspost into the rewatch at this time. Suggestions for episodes? I'll track down a couple commercially-sourced lists and crossref like I did before.

(Get a) Life After Deep Space Nine
Now that the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine rewatch is drawing to a close, we have tossed around some ideas about what Star Trek to cover next in recent threads. Let's organize our thoughts here and hash it out. [more inside]
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: When It Rains... Rewatch Season 7, Ep 21
...it pours... plot twists. The Klingons hold the key to victory over the Dominion, and a canny and judicious leader could use that to hold them at bay until the entire Alliance was ready to join them; unfortunately, the Empire has Gowron. Kira changes her clothes and Garak makes a call. Dukat finds out that when the Pah-wraiths say "for the Kai's eyes only", they mean it. And the only cure for someone's fever (not the sexy kind) isn't more cowbell, and Bashir and O'Brien have to go to the last people (ostensibly) on their side who they want to see to get it. (Series Finale - Part 5 of 9) [more inside]

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Strange Bedfellows Rewatch Season 7, Ep 19
(Series Finale - Part 3 of 9) Unfortunately, despite the title, not a bedroom farce (with the deliberate exception of The Power Couple Who Shall Not Be Named), but still plenty to chew on: Martok reveals to Sisko that the real war has just begun, a prisoner is a pain in the neck for Weyoun, Quark pours one out for a homie, Damar considers the man in the mirror (prior to asking him to change his ways), Winn does a heel/even-worse-heel turn, and Worf and Ezri? They're just hangin' out. [more inside]
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: 'Til Death Do Us Part Rewatch Season 7, Ep 18

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Once More Unto the Breach Rewatch Season 7, Ep 7
I know thee not, old man: fall to thy prayers;
How ill white hairs become a fool and jester!
I have long dream'd of such a kind of man,
So surfeit-swell'd, so old, and so profane;
But, being awaked, I do despise my dream.
Make less thy body hence, and more thy grace;
Leave gormandizing; know the grave doth gape
For thee thrice wider than for other men.
