Three short stories by shock-meister Stephen King are linked by a stray cat that roams from one tale to the next in this creepy triptych that begins as Dick (James Woods) tries to quit smoking by any means necessary. Next, we meet Johnny (Robert Hays), an adulterous man who's forced by his lover's husband onto a building's hazardous ledge. Movie: Black Sabbath

This horror anthology by Mario Bava consists of three separate tales introduced by Boris Karloff and based on stories by Tolstoy, de Maupassant, and Chekhov. In "The Telephone," Rosy (Michèle Mercier) receives threatening telephone calls from an unseen stalker. In "The Wurdulak", a man named Gorca (Karloff) returns to his family after claiming to have slain a Wurdulak, an undead creature who attacks those that it had once loved. "The Drop of Water" centers on Helen Corey (Jacqueline Pierreux), a nurse who steals a ring from a corpse being prepared for burial and finds herself haunted by the ring's original owner. Channel Zero: Candle Cove, Part One: You Have to Go Inside  Season 1, Ep 1

SyFy launches its new horror anthology with a story based on Kris Straub's creepypasta, "Candle Cove" (original story.) In the debut episode, a child psychologist investigates the 1988 murders of several children in his hometown, including his own twin brother. A half-forgotten kids' TV show from the 1980s seems strangely connected. The series is produced by Max Landis (Chronicle).
