Mystery Science Theater 3000: THE HORROR OF PARTY BEACH   Rewatch
January 31, 2019 4:14 AM - Season 8, Episode 17 - Subscribe

Shocking terror! Hideous and ridiculous monsters crawl out of the sea! "It had ping-pong balls for eyes!" shrieked one overacting eyewitness! Another moaned unconvincingly, "Oh the carnage, the bad costumes, the poor cinematography!" Will no one put a stop to the atrocities committed by this director and his crew? In subplot news, Pearl and Brain Guy are in ancient Rome. Previously.

This is one of my top five episodes. And the Sodium song? [chef kiss]

"You have defeated me, sir; you and your noble band of choreographers. "

It's time once again for MST CLUB!

Every Thursday night (more or less), we get together at https://cytu.be/r/Metafilter_MST3KClub starting at 7 PM Eastern time (that's 4 PM for those on the West Coast, those in-between will have to figure out the difference themselves). Usually we watch a different movie (usually a very weird one) at that time, the at 9 PM Eastern (6 PM Pacific) we watch an episode of MST3K. And it's usually the one posted about that week, unless for some reason we can't get it. And we even watch fun stuff after the episode!

We hope you can join us!

One of the greatest movies ever filmed in Stamford, CT!

This is one of the very first episodes I ever watched, and the first huge laugh I had with MST3k was at the line "I can't get this beer open", because it was just so perfect and a great example of the writers picking up on the tiniest details in a movie's background.

I remember a friend laughing wryly at the "Lee Radziwill" jokes every time Elaine was on screen and not getting it, then falling down a rabbit hole of figuring out how Elaine was related to Jackie Kennedy in real life (Alice Lyon married Jackie's step brother Hugh Auchincloss NOW MAYBE I WILL REMEMBER THAT SO I STOP TRYING TO GOOGLE IT EVERY TIME I WATCH THIS)

Also I have seen this movie a lot of times.
